UA Environmental Council to Host Film Showing

he University of Alabama Environmental Council invites the public to a free film viewing and discussion at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, in the Ferguson Theatre on campus. The Southern Exposure event, sponsored by the Southern Environmental Law Center, features a collection of documentaries designed to raise awareness about environmental issues that affect Alabama’s natural treasures as well as Alabamians’ health, economy and quality of life.

UA Wins 2013 Beat Auburn, Beat Hunger Competition

The University of Alabama won the 2013 Beat Auburn Beat Hunger Food Drive by collecting 299,398 pounds of food to top Auburn University’s collection of 169,702 pounds of food.

UA Libraries Join HathiTrust

The University of Alabama has become one of the newest partners of Hathitrust, a partnership of major academic and research libraries collaborating in a digital library initiative to preserve and provide access to the published record in digital form.
