Crossroads Community Center at UA Presents Unity through Diversity Week

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama Crossroads Community Center will celebrate Unity through Diversity Week beginning Tuesday, April 6.

The Spoken Secrets Poetry Jam will be held in the Ferguson Theater on April 6 at 7 p.m. The event will include 23 poetry and musical acts, including Georgia Me who has appeared on “Russell Simon’s Def Poetry Jam” and the “Monique Show.” The event is free and open to the public.

A meet-and-greet for UA faculty, staff and students to network and share their thoughts on a variety of intercultural topics will be held on April 7 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Crossroads Center Lounge, 232 Ferguson Center.

An open discussion focusing on “Campus Climate: Integrity and Inclusiveness” will be held on April 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Crossroads Lounge.

The programs will support the Crossroads Center’s mission to promote cultural awareness through creative activities for the UA community and to serve as a cross-cultural resource for the campus.
