TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama’s EveryWoman Book Club will discuss Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali at the Globe Restaurant in Northport on Thursday, Aug. 28 at noon.
Infidel is a memoir that chronicles the journey of a Somalian woman who struggles against cultural and religious norms to create her own belief system. She describes her journey as “the world of faith to the world of reason.” The memoir gives the reader a better understanding of her culture and offers an inspiring message. Ayaan Hirsi Ali was named in Time’s 100 Most Influential People of 2005; she was a 2005 Glamour Hero and Reader Digest’s European of the Year 2006.
All members of the community and UA’s campus are welcome to attend the EveryWoman Book Club. The Globe restaurant is located in historic downtown Northport.
