UA Capstone Leadership Assembly Promotes Student Success

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Coordinating Council for Student Organizations is hosting this year’s CLASS — Capstone Leadership Assembly for Student Success – Conference in the Ferguson Center on Saturday Feb. 24 at 9 a.m.

Congressman Artur Davis of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District will present the keynote address during the conference lunch session scheduled for 12:30-1:45 p.m.

Registration is free to UA students, but space is limited to the first 100 students and early registration is encouraged. The registration fee for non-UA students is $20. Registration is due by Feb. 9. Applications can be found online at www.ccso.ua.edu and can be mailed to Office of Student Affairs, 341 Ferguson, Box 870292, Tuscaloosa, Al 35487-0292.

Students at UA, as well as college students from across the state, are invited to attend a day-long conference focusing on aspects of leadership that are pertinent to college leaders.

The conference will offer breakout sessions such as “Marketing Your Success,” “Creative Leadership and Diversity” and “Event Planning” that offer practical training in areas students can use in both their organizations on campus now and post-graduate careers in the future. Also, the DiSC leadership style assessment test and a graduate school roundtable will provide opportunities for exchange among college students about common concerns and learning experiences.
