UA Adds Student Research Responsibilities to Bissell’s Roles

A University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences’ administrator and researcher will add campus-wide undergraduate research responsibilities to her roles, UA announced today.

University of Alabama students who have been awarded Presidential Scholarships and complete their undergraduate degrees early will now be able to use their remaining scholarship funds for graduate school.

UA’s Bama Dining to Offer Free Starbucks, Discounts to Veterans, Service Members

The University of Alabama’s Bama Dining is showing its gratitude for veterans and active duty military personnel this Veterans Day. On Tuesday, Nov. 11, Bama Dining is inviting all veterans and current service members to start their days with a free tall coffee from Starbucks. In addition, Burke Dining Hall will have a $5 special for its nine-station buffet all day.

UA to Host Tuscaloosa Area Drug Summit

The first Tuscaloosa drug summit will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the Sellers Auditorium in the Bryant Conference Center on The University of Alabama campus. “Engage in Tuscaloosa: Envisioning Drug Education for Al” will be hosted by UA in partnership with the Parent Resource Institute for Drug Education, Stillman College, Shelton State Community College and the Tuscaloosa County district attorney’s office. The summit is free and open to the public.

The 2014 class of MBA graduates in The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce is making more money and seeing bigger bonuses than last year’s MBA graduates.

UA Students to Hold Color War, Letter Writing Event for Deployed Soldiers

The University of Alabama Caring for Camo student organization will host a color war event to support deployed soldiers from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity house on campus. Admission to the Color me Camo event is $5 and it is open to the public. All of the proceeds will fund the packing and sending of care packages to soldiers stationed around the world.

Foundation Establishes Scholarship in Memory of UA Alumnus Larry Drummond

The University of Alabama’s College of Arts and Sciences announced today that a scholarship in memory of UA alumnus Larry Drummond has been established through a $50,000 donation from the Alabama Conservation and Natural Resources Foundation.
