Scholar, Author to Lend Personal Insights into Hurricane Katrina Disaster at UA Lecture and Panel Discussion

Trauma and life surrounding the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans will be the subject of a reading and panel discussion featuring noted scholar and author Dr. Jerry W. Ward Jr. Feb. 4-5 at The University of Alabama.

Comedians Stand Up For Mental Health at UA

Stand Up For Mental Health, a Vancouver, British Columbia-based organization is teaming up with local agencies to offer a comedy program at The University of Alabama Ferguson Center Theater on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. as a way of raising awareness of mental illness among college students.

UA Engineering Awarded Grant to Expand Science and Math in Sumter County Schools

The University of Alabama College of Engineering has landed a $2.98 million grant from the National Science Foundation Division of Graduate Education to establish a new five-year program for two high schools and four middle schools in Sumter County.

Associate Dean of UA’s School of Medicine to Address McCollough Medical Scholars Forum

Dr. E. Eugene Marsh III, dean of The University of Alabama’s College of Community Health Sciences and associate dean of the UA School of Medicine, will be the featured speaker for the seventh annual Susan and Gaylon McCollough Medical Scholars Forum Jan. 30-31 in Shelby Hall on the UA campus.
