Bama Dining Upgrades for Fall 2024

UA’s campus community can expect to see a couple of favorite spots revamped for the fall semester thanks to some planned improvements by Bama Dining.

So, What’s New?

The Chick-fil-A in Lloyd Hall has been updated to the brand’s most current layout, service style and finishes. Additionally, a larger awning and outdoor seating have been added to the Starbucks on University Boulevard.

These improvements were designed to be more efficient in meeting the needs of diners.

“At Chick-fil-A, students will be able to order on self-service kiosks at the entry to the facility, like the ordering style in the Student Center,” said Andrew Watling, the new director of University Dining Services.

The Chick-fil-A expansion includes the former Boar’s Head Deli space that was next to it. The larger footprint will allow the entire Chick-fil-A menu to be available, including shakes and other popular menu items not previously offered at that location.

The Starbucks on University Boulevard has been such a favorite that improvements were warranted there as well.

“The non-drive-thru window at Starbucks on University Boulevard has been so successful we are adding a larger awning and outdoor seating to make guests more comfortable as they wait for their orders,” Watling said.

Other Dining Improvements

The Fresh Food Company has a fresh look, too, this fall after undergoing renovations this summer to update the finishes and improve operational efficiency.

“The number of guests served in the Fresh Food Company every day has continued to increase each year. The new equipment package will allow the service team to prepare meals more efficiently and quickly, offering students a greater speed of service,” Watling said. “We are also increasing the seating capacity to allow more guests to dine more comfortably than before.”

Additionally, this fall’s Flip Kitchen resident in the Student Center will be food truck favorite Low Tide Poke Bowl.
