UA Professor Leads Effort to Teach Computer Science in High Schools

Continuing efforts to introduce computer science to high school students, a $1 million grant was awarded to Dr. Jeff Gray, associate professor of computer science in The University of Alabama College of Engineering, to train teachers in a new computer-science course and future College Board AP exam.

UA Students Hold Chess Match, Share Game Benefits with Tuscaloosa Children

Honors students at The University of Alabama will hold a chess match Thursday, Nov. 15, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. for Tuscaloosa-area children who play the game as part of a team or club through their schools or other organizations.
