TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Neil Gaiman, the award-winning author of the fantasy novels “The Graveyard Book,” “Coraline,” “Stardust,” “American Gods” and “Anansi Boys,” will read from his work at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at the Bama Theatre in Tuscaloosa. The reading is presented by The University of Alabama’s Creative Campus, in conjunction with UA’s Office of Academic Affairs, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering and the Bankhead Visiting Writers Series.
Gaiman is noted for writing DC Comics’ “Sandman” series, as well as the screenplay for the Robert Zemeckis film “Beowulf.” He won the Newbery Medal for his novel for children “The Graveyard Book,” as well as the Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy, British SF and International Horror Guild awards. His novels “Coraline” and “Stardust” were adapted into feature films. Born and raised in England, Gaiman now lives near Minneapolis. His Web site is at www.neilgaiman.com.
