Parents Invited to Campus for UA Family Weekend

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Parents and families of students are invited to attend The University of Alabama’s 2009 Family Weekend, held on campus Sept. 18-20.

“Parents and families want to be involved in their student’s education. They know the importance of supporting their student and family weekend gives them an opportunity to return back to campus and show that support,” says Sara Hartley, assistant director of Parent Programs at UA.

More than 5,200 parents and family members have registered to attend Family Weekend 2009, hosted by the office of Parent Programs within the division of Student Affairs.

This year, the schedule of events includes a variety of items from a “Social Networking for Parents” seminar to the “Rolling on the River with the Tide” cruise down the Black Warrior River. A tuition scholarship, several book scholarships and footballs signed by Coach Saban will be given away.

The UA Parents Association will host their annual tailgate on the lawn in front of Little Hall prior to the football game on Saturday, Sept. 19, against North Texas.
