Dr. Terry Horgan, a professor of philosophy at the University of Arizona, will speak Sept. 22 at The University of Alabama on “Mind and Brain: Philosophy of Mind in the 21st Century” at 7:30 p.m. in room 205 of Smith Hall on the UA campus.
Melody Kelley, an award-winning chemistry graduate student at UA, is focused on a high level of science, but she hasn’t forgotten what inspired her to pursue her education in the first place – a high school teacher.

With a record 28,807 students enrolled this fall, The University of Alabama continues to be the state’s largest university. Enrollment increased by 1,755 students or 6.5 percent over fall 2008, and this year’s freshman class once again increased in quality as well as size.

A total of 352 students enrolled during the 2009 summer term at The University of Alabama made the Dean’s List with an academic record of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) or the President’s List with an academic record of 4.0 (all As).
