TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences will be hosting Bruce B. Friend, one of the world’s foremost experts in youth-targeted media and youth culture, Oct. 26-27 on campus.
Friend, managing director/executive vice president for media and entertainment insights for the online research company OTX, will give a talk on Friday, Oct. 27 from noon-1 p.m. in 216 Reese Phifer Hall. Friend will discuss new methods in online testing.
His presentation is open to the public; students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.
Since 1980 he has worked for top media companies, including Sony Pictures Entertainment, MTV Networks, Telemundo Group, Nickelodeon, VH1, Saatchi & Saatchi, HBO, the Disney Channel and Young & Rubicam.
A member of the C&IS Board of Visitors, Friend will be a Hearst Visiting Professional in Residence. He will be available Thursday, Oct. 26, and Friday morning, Oct. 27, to meet with classes, research groups or production groups.
