The UA program in creative writing will host a screening of the award-winning documentary “The Dhamma Brothers” and a talk by students teaching in the Alabama prisons on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa.
The University of Alabama’s Hudson Strode Program in Renaissance Studies in the English department will offer the first Southeast Milton Seminar Friday, Oct. 2, and Saturday, Oct. 3, at Morgan Hall on the UA campus.
Four renowned communication and information leaders will be inducted into The University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences Hall of Fame Thursday, Oct. 8.

“Rose Lee’s House,” an architectural exhibit of a house built recently by the Rural Studio, will be on display starting Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Sarah Moody Gallery of Art on The University of Alabama campus.

Two events will be held on campus this month – Paw Fest and a Dog Splash – to benefit the West Alabama Humane Society, area animals and pet lovers.
Dr. Terry Horgan, a professor of philosophy at the University of Arizona, will speak Sept. 22 at The University of Alabama on “Mind and Brain: Philosophy of Mind in the 21st Century” at 7:30 p.m. in room 205 of Smith Hall on the UA campus.
University of Alabama students and recreational golfers from the West Alabama area are invited to take part in the UA Play Golf America Tournament Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Ol’ Colony Golf Course in Tuscaloosa.
