Marketing students from The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce recently raised funds and helped build a Habitat for Humanity home in Tuscaloosa for the second year in a row.

A group of University of Alabama ROTC cadets will travel to Montevallo Monday, Feb. 17, to participate in the dedication of the National Veterans Shrine and Register of Honor at the American Village.
Students Compete in Miss UA Pageant
A new Miss University of Alabama will be selected at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa. Marking 40 years as a preliminary competition for the Miss Alabama and Miss America titles, the 2014 Miss UA pageant will feature 17 students vying for the crown in the categories of private interview, swimsuit-physical fitness, talent, evening wear and on-stage question. The winner will receive numerous gifts, including a full-tuition scholarship and book scholarships for her year of service, and she will also represent UA at the 2014 Miss Alabama Pageant in Birmingham in June.

UA Adds Architectural, Environmental Engineering Degrees

UA Sororities, Fraternities to Host Benefit Concert
Thirteen sororities and fraternities at The University of Alabama are teaming up to host a philanthropic event, Jam for St. Jude, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at the Sigma Nu fraternity house on campus. The event, which benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, is open to the public. Cost is $6 at the door.

The University of Alabama’s First Year Experience within the Division of Student Affairs will offer three sessions of Camp 1831 in August.
Dean’s List Students Named for UA Fall 2013 Term Part 2
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A total of 8,990 students enrolled during the 2013 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean’s List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President’s List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s). The UA Dean’s and President’s List recognizes full-time undergraduate students.
