UA Honors College Names Prospective University Fellows
The University Fellows Experience, housed in the Honors College at The University of Alabama, has selected 39 prospective freshmen members for the fall’s incoming freshmen class.

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program has selected four University of Alabama students as Goldwater Scholars for 2015-2016.
The University of Alabama’s Honors College is offering a Young Voices Conference for about 50 high school students from Francis Marion, Pickens and Greensboro high schools. The conference will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at UA’s Russell Hall.
University of Alabama students will travel to Marion for Engineering Day from noon to 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 17, at Francis Marion High School. The event is designed to encourage high school students’ interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The University of Alabama honored its top students for their academic achievements and leadership Friday, April 4, during the Honors Day Tapping Ceremony, the highlight of UA’s annual Honors Week, March 30-April 5.
The University of Alabama Honors College presents Jhino “The Piper” Ferreira in his one-man play, “Cops and Robbers,” at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 10, at Tuscaloosa River Market, 1900 Jack Warner Parkway. Ferreira, a rapper as well as a Bay Area police officer, plays 17 different characters in the play, which centers on a police shooting.
The Vedic Society at The University of Alabama invites the public to its first Festival of Colors event at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at Mildred Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum, 1901 Jack Warner Parkway NE in Tuscaloosa.
The University of Alabama will recognize the achievement of outstanding students and faculty during Honors Week activities on campus from Monday, March 30, to Sunday, April 5. The Tapping on the Mound ceremony, a tradition since the early 1900s, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, on the Mound at the west side of the UA Quad (rain location will be Moody Music Building Concert Hall). University honoraries Omicron Delta Kappa, Mortar Board, Blue Key National Honor Society and Anderson Society will induct members.
“Making the Grade: Reforming Alabama’s Education” will be the topic of a University of Alabama Honors College Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, March 30, in the Ferguson Center Forum on The University of Alabama campus.
The Alabama Panhellenic Association will host its annual Easter egg hunt for the Tuscaloosa community on the front lawn of the President’s Mansion Sunday, March 29.
