TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama’s School of Library and Information Studies will host its annual children’s and young adult book sale Feb. 11-13 in Gorgas Library.
The sale will offer new, inexpensive and free children’s and young adult books. Proceeds of the sale support the National Latino Children’s Literature Conference housed at the School of Library and Information Studies.
“These books are perfect for gift-giving or donating to local schools and libraries,” said Dr. Jamie Naidoo, associate and Foster-EBSCO Endowed Professor in the School of Library and Information Studies. “Many school libraries have not received book funds in over six years and would welcome donations.”
Specialty and toy books will cost $5, hardcover books will be $4, and board books and paperbacks will be $2, with a number of free books also available. The School will accept cash, checks and purchase orders; no credit or debit cards will be accepted.
Sale hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Feb. 11-12 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 13. The sale will be located on the fifth floor of Gorgas Library in the SLIS Study, room 530.
