UA and AU Students Unite to Build House for Habitat for Humanity
WHNT (Huntsville) – July 21
… the students have put rivalries aside and in a show of unity, they are working together to rebuild Tuscaloosa. Carson: when you think of Tuscaloosa, you normally think of this place, the University of Alabama and Alabama football. Now the campus itself was not touched on April 27th. But many of the students rolled up their sleeves and went to work and so did their rivals from the other side of the state.

Alabama home sales rise from May, fall from a year ago

But sales rose from May, by 12 percent. Over the past five years, June home sales have increased from May by an average of 3.9 percent, ACRE said, so this year’s increase is notable …

Student body presidents urge political leaders to reach compromise on debt debate

Over the past several weeks, politicians, economic experts and business leaders have urged President Obama and Congressional leaders to agree to raise the debt ceiling and reduce the national deficit. On Thursday, another group joined the call: college student government presidents…Several student presidents have also filmed YouTube videos of their message. Grant Cochran, student government president at the University of Alabama, ends his video address with this message: “I know that through working together we can create something positive for the American people. We are the future. And our future is in your hands.”
