Aspiring Young Authors Invited to Attend UA Creative Writing Camp

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama English department invites area high school students to attend the 2011 Summer Creative Writing Camp.

The camp will meet June 13-24 from 1-4 p.m. on Monday-Friday in 301 Morgan Hall.

The instructors, published writers and UA graduate students, will lead a two-week exploration of creative writing under the direction of Robin Behn, UA professor and poet. Students will learn to experiment with different forms of writing, create their own publication and give a public reading.

No previous creative writing experience is required for the free program, and there is no registration deadline.

To register, send an email with the student’s name, address, phone number, email address, school and grade level to Katie Berger, camp coordinator, at cwc@bama.ua.edu.
