TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Dr. E. Faye Williams, Esq., chair of the National Congress of Black Women and former council to the U.S. Congress, will speak at a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21 at the Capstone Hotel on The University of Alabama campus.
She will speak on “The Victory Gained Through Struggle.” Her appearance is being hosted by UA’s Culverhouse College of Commerce, the Women’s Initiative, Delta Sigma Theta and the College of Communication and Information Sciences.
Williams holds a doctorate in public administration from City University at Los Angeles, as well as a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California, a J. D. degree from Howard University School of Law; Administrative Credential from U.C.L.A, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Grambling State University.
She has appeared on numerous radio and television programs, including BET, CBS, CNN, Good Morning America, the David Brinkley Show, the Canadian Broadcasting System, C-Span, and MSNBC’s “Hard Ball.” Ebony Magazine lists Williams as one of the “100 Most Influential Blacks” and Ebony’s “Power 150.”
Following the luncheon, Delta Sigma Theta will host a panel discussion with Williams and corporate recruiters on how minority female college students can better prepare for today’s job market.
Tickets are $25 for the general public and $15 for students.
