Students Will Find Connections to Campus Life at UA’s Get on Board Day

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Whether University of Alabama students are interested in working with children, volunteering or student government, all will have the opportunity to find their niche at Get on Board Day on Wednesday, Jan. 19,  in the Ferguson Center Ballroom from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Around 120 student organizations and departments from across campus will be featured. There will also be free food and giveaways at the event.

The goal of Get on Board Day is to provide students with the campus organizations that interest them most. Sitters for Service, Circle K, UA Transfer Student Organization and Colleges Against Cancer are just a few of the organizations registered for the event. Sponsored by the Student Organization Resource Center for Extracurricular each fall and spring, the event draws numerous students and faculty members to learn about the range of campus groups.

“It is my hope that students get a glance at the variety of opportunities for involvement across campus,” said Alex Karagas, coordinator of student involvement and leadership.

“While spring Get on Board Day is not the only opportunity to get involved in the more than 300 student organizations on campus, it is a great way to preview your options. I highly encourage students of all classifications to come to spring Get on Board Day to explore their options and then to follow up online at the SOURCE or with the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership.”
