Four New Members Join ACRE Advisory Board

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Four new members have been named to the advisory board of trustees of the Alabama Center for Real Estate at The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce.

Hal Tillman Jr., of Birmingham, president of Tillman Realty LLC, was named to a three-year term as a regular trustee. Tillman is a 1980 UA graduate in real estate and was recently recognized as the 2009 Alabama Realtor of the Year.

Named to two-year terms as industry-specific trustees were:

Cynthia Cox Ragland of Birmingham, managing broker, Royal Realty and Associates. She is president-elect of the Birmingham Association of Realtors;

William B. Wilson of Montgomery, president, Jim Wilson and Associates, whose family developments include Hoover Galleria and the Eastchase Mall in Montgomery;

Tom Chambers of Tuscaloosa, vice president of Westervelt Communities, a division of the Westervelt Co.

Bill Poole of Huntsville will serve as chair of the board for 2010, and Mark Fain of Montgomery will serve as vice-chair. Pool is president of Bill Poole Realty and Fain is vice president of Alfa Properties Inc.

“Our advisory board of trustees is a vital part of ACRE,” said Grayson Glaze, ACRE’s executive director. “The board members represent a vast wealth of knowledge of all facets of the real estate industry, and we are grateful that they are willing to share it with us and all of our constituents. “

ACRE, part of UA’s Culverhouse College of Commerce, collects, maintains and analyzes the state’s real estate statistics, and it hosts the annual Alabama Commercial Real Estate Conference & Expo.
