TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — David M. Shribman, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and executive editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, will be on The University of Alabama campus to discuss “The New Architecture of Journalism” Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. in 205 Amelia Gorgas Library.
Shribman, who has lectured at colleges and universities across the country, received the Pulitzer Prize in journalism in 1995 for his coverage of Washington and the American political scene.
He is a regular panelist on the PBS show “Washington Week in Review” and a frequent analyst for BBC Radio.
His talk is sponsored by the UA Blackburn Institute and the department of political science; the one-hour event is free and open to the public.
Before joining the Pittsburgh newspaper, Shribman was the assistant managing editor, columnist and Washington bureau chief for The Boston Globe. He has also worked at The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Star and The Buffalo Evening News. He received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and did graduate work at Cambridge University in England as a James Reynolds Scholar.
