UA Students to Auction T-Shirt Designs

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Students in The University of Alabama College of Human Environmental Sciences department of clothing, textiles and interior design will host Tee-Time, their annual, silent auction fundraiser, Tuesday, April 8, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in a tent located on the front lawn of Doster Hall.

The fundraiser is a competition event for clothing, textiles and interior design students who were all given an extra-large, men’s white T-shirt and deconstructed it to create any type of clothing or accessory.

The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the event will start at 7 p.m. with a fashion show of the pieces created by HES students. There will be an auction in the lobby of Doster Hall following the fashion show to sell all of the pieces. This is the first year the student event has incorporated a fashion show to feature their work.

“Our fundraiser appeals to everyone because all of the students have a different design and creation,” said Amanda Perna, an HES student and co-chair Tee-Time. “The individuals who decide to participate in the auction usually get the design they want for a great deal, and the piece of work is one-of-a-kind.”

Entrance to the event is $5 and the public is invited to attend.
