Celebrate the Holidays with Free UA Museums Events

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Museums invites visitors to enjoy the holidays with free events at the Gorgas House Museum, Paul W. Bryant Museum and Alabama Museum of Natural History.

Letters to Santa

On Saturday, Dec. 6 from 1 to 4 p.m., the Gorgas House Museum invites visitors to write letters to Santa with historical dip pens and seal them with wax seals, as well as make traditional Victorian holiday crafts.

Holiday Open Houses

Gorgas House Museum

The Gorgas House Museum will host a holiday open house Friday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can tour the oldest building on campus decorated for the holidays. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served while supplies last. 

Paul W. Bryant Museum

The Paul W. Bryant Museum will host its annual open house Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The museum will offer complimentary food, drinks and fun activities for the whole family. Big Al will be available for photos and fun, and guests will also have the chance to write him a holiday card. Plus, shop the museum store’s clearance section for great deals on Alabama gear. The store is also providing a 10% discount on items.

Alabama Museum of Natural History

The Alabama Museum of Natural History invites visitors to an “All Day Holiday Open House” Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Visitors are invited to make ornaments, complete a scavenger hunt, and take home museum buttons and bookmarks. Light refreshments will be served while supplies last.

While all events are free, donations to UA Museums are welcome.
