UA Students Shine at Miss Alabama 2025

University of Alabama students competing at the Miss Alabama pageant held June 23-28 shined throughout the competition week earning six spots in the Top 13. Three of those students advanced to the Top 5.

Students included in the Top 13 were Hannah Adams, Reagan Hanson, Rylie Dewley, Abby Sosa, Ruby Tilghman and Chloe Yates. Adams, Sosa and Tilghman went on to earn spots in the Top 5.

Miss University of Alabama Ruby Tilghman was named second runner-up, earning a $3,000 scholarship. Hannah Adams was named first runner-up, earning a $5,000 scholarship. And Abby Sosa was named fourth runner-up, earning a $2,000 scholarship.

UA students also earned several accolades throughout the week. Tilghman was named a STEM Scholarship runner-up, earning a $1,200 scholarship, and the Community Service Award winner, earning a $2,000 scholarship. Sosa and Rylie Dewley were each awarded a $500 scholarship as preliminary talent award winners. Additionally, Adams was a preliminary evening gown winner, earning a $300 scholarship and a finalist in the Community Service Award, earning a $250 scholarship.

For the third year in a row, Dewley was elected by her peers as Miss Congeniality, earning her a $250 scholarship. Adams, Imani Muse and Sosa were also selected as Community Service finalists, earning them $250 scholarships each.

Additionally, all 10 of UA’s students participating earned scholarship dollars through various donor-funded avenues – Adams earned a total of $6,850; Carson Champion earned a total of $2,500; Dewley earned a total of $3,500; Ashley Gattis earned a total of $1,700; Liliana Geier earned a total of $1,800; Reagan Hanson earned a total of $2,550; Muse earned a total of $3,790; Sosa earned a total of $3,750 and Yates earned a total of $2,750.

This year was Tilghman’s first time competing for Miss Alabama and she earned more than $7,600 in scholarships. She will continue her reign as Miss University of Alabama until this year’s competition in October.

Among the 43 participants, the Miss Alabama Organization awarded over $144,000 in cash scholarships this year.
