12 Students Seek Miss Alabama Crown

Twelve University of Alabama students are among this year’s field of 40 contestants set to compete for the title of Miss Alabama 2024 June 24-29 at Samford University in Birmingham.

Contestants are evaluated in the categories of interview, talent, evening gown, health and fitness and on-stage question. Additionally, each has her own community service initiative, a cause she championed while reigning in her respective title.

Miss Alabama 2024 will represent Alabama at the Miss America pageant later this year.

The mission of the Miss Alabama organization, part of the Miss America organization, is to help educate young women of Alabama by providing scholarships to further their college education. 

According to the Miss Alabama organization, the state title comes with a $15,000 cash scholarship along with several in-kind scholarships, sponsor gifts and services made available to her.
