UA’s holiday break is Dec. 22-Jan. 1, 2026. Most offices and services follow the UA holiday schedule. Check individual websites and the UA events calendar for the latest information.
Parking
- Residential students wishing to leave their vehicles on campus may park in any parking deck corresponding to their parking zone with their permit.
- Commuter students or students without a parking permit who wish to leave their vehicles on campus during holiday can email uapark@ua.edu for additional information.
Crimson Ride
- Campus service stops at midnight Dec. 12.
- Commencement shuttles will operate Dec. 13.
- No weekend or shopping shuttles Dec. 13-14, Dec. 20-21, Dec. 27-28 or Jan. 3-4, 2026.
- Basketball shuttles will operate Dec. 29 and Jan. 3, 2026.
- Reduced service runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Dec. 15-19 and Jan. 2, 2026. Campus coverage will be three buses running the circulator route, two running the circulator 2 route, and (NEW) three apartment routes (north apartment, south apartment, east Apartment). Track apartment routes in the Passio Go app. Buses will run the University services route and Student Center route from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- No campus bus service Dec. 22-Jan. 1, 2026.
- Full campus service resumes 7 a.m., Jan. 5, 2026.
Art Galleries
- Paul R. Jones Museum closed Dec. 5, reopens Jan. 14
- Sella-Granata Art Gallery closes Dec. 12, reopens Jan. 28
- Sarah Moody Gallery of Art closes Dec. 5, reopens Jan. 15 for the Art & Art History 2026 Faculty Biennial Exhibition
- UA Gallery closes Dec. 5, reopens on Feb. 6
Automotive Services
Closed from Monday, Dec. 22, through Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. Staff will be on call if an emergency arises.
Bama Dining
Most Bama Dining locations will close on Friday, Dec. 12. All dining locations will resume normal hours of operation on Jan. 7, 2026. Visit bamadining.ua.edu for up-to-date hours information.
Starbucks
- Starbucks at the Student Center will remain open through Dec. 19.
- Starbucks on Bryant Drive will be open through Dec. 23 and reopen Jan. 2, 2026.
- Starbucks on University Boulevard will be open through Dec. 23 and reopen Dec. 26.
Camellia Center
Closes Dec. 12 through Jan. 1, 2026, but on-call during closure.
Campus Mail
Closed from Dec. 22 through Jan. 1, 2026. This includes departmental mail operations, student mail operations and the Passport Acceptance Facility. All outgoing mail must be received by 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, to go out before the break.
- The Passport Acceptance facility will close and the retail sales at the Student Mail Center will cease at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19.
- Regular hours resume Friday, Jan. 2, 2026.
Counseling Center
Open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through Dec. 19 and reopens on Jan. 2.
Crimson Concierge
- Crimson Concierge is closed Dec. 22-Jan. 2, 2026.
- Full campus service resumes 8 a.m., Jan. 5, 2026.
Faculty-Staff Clinic
The University Medical Center Faculty-Staff Clinic will be closed Dec. 24-25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, 2026. The clinic will have reduced hours, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Dec. 22-23, Dec. 26, Dec. 29-30, and will reopen Jan. 2, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Fleet Services
Fleet Services will follow the same schedule as UA. However, reservations for fleet cars can still be made using the link on the website and emails will be monitored.
Libraries
- Gorgas and Rodgers Libraries are open 24 hours a day from Dec. 1 through Friday, Dec. 12 at 5 p.m.
- Additionally, Rodgers Library will be open Dec. 22-23 and Dec. 29-30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- All libraries are open Dec. 15-19 from 7:30 a.m to- 5 p.m., Jan. 2 from 7:30 a.m. to5 p.m. and Jan. 5-6 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- All libraries are closed Dec. 13-14, Dec. 20-Jan. 1 and Jan. 3-4, 2026.
- Regular hours resume on Jan. 7, 2026.

The IT Service Desk phone hotline will remain open 24/7 throughout the break.
Student Center
- Dec. 14: Closed

- Jan. 2: Open 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Jan. 3: Normal operating hours resume.
Student Health Center and Pharmacy
The UA Student Health Center and Pharmacy will be closed Dec. 22-Jan. 1, 2026. The SHCP will reopen Jan. 2, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Supe Store
- The Student Center and Town Center locations will be closed for the holiday break.
- The Corner Supe Store location will be open Dec. 21-22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 29 from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and closed the rest of the holiday break.
- All Supe Store locations resume normal business hours Jan. 2, 2026.
University Club
The University Club is closed Dec. 22-Jan. 1, 2026.
