Fashion Design Students Shine in Fashion for Life

Seventeen apparel design seniors presented their final collections at the annual Fashion for Life on Nov. 17 at the Bama Theatre. Fashion for Life is the culmination of a capstone course that students start preparing for before their senior year.

Student designers included:

  • Paige Becwar, of Orlando, Florida
  • Zachary Brown, of Mobile
  • Emma Estill, of Atlanta
  • Jolie Golden, of Dothan
  • Ty Helms, of Moody
  • Izzy Hood, of Ringgold, Georgia
  • Dannah Jo Johnson, of Centre
  • Madelyn Lee, of Columbiana
  • Anna “Wings” Liebbe, of Colorado Springs, Colorado
  • Jane Lipp, of New Gloucester, Maine
  • Belle Nichols, of San Antonio
  • Emilia Obilites, of Novato, California
  • MyKayla Robinson, of Mobile
  • Kaylen Rose Ruffin, of Tuscaloosa
  • DeShawn Samples, of Richland, Washington
  • Laken Thompson, of Mountain Brook
  • Elaine Weirich, of Decatur

Participants use knowledge and skills gained from their years of study to meet the challenge of this experiential learning event. The collection development process and production of the show itself mirror what students will encounter once they enter the apparel industry after graduation.

All proceeds from the event’s ticket sales were donated to the United Way of West Alabama. Money raised from sales was matched by Estee Lauder Companies.
