Bring resumes, a prepared elevator pitch and dress professionally!  Student check-in is at the Coliseum’s north entrance.

Welcome Grayhawk Perkins to the Jones Archaeological Museum for his traditional Houma storytelling performance. This program is free with paid park admission

Historic Tuscaloosa Summertime Lecture
Thursday, Sept. 28, 5:30 p.m., 214 Farrah Hall

The title of the final presentation of the summer lecture series is “Confronting Our Complicated Shared Past” and will be given by Dr. Sharony Green, who will follow up on her previous lectures and book, explaining Tuscaloosa’s history. 

An Evening with Carl Phillips 
Tuesday, Sept. 10, 7-8:30 p.m., Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center 

This is the first event of the UA Department of English’s Visiting Writers Series. Carl Phillips is a Pulitzer Prize-winning poet who will read part of his work, answer questions and autograph books.  Light refreshments will be provided for those who arrive early, around 6:30 p.m. 

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at the Tuscaloosa Public Library
Saturday, Sept. 21, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Main Branch Parking Lot

All ages are welcome to this celebration of Hispanic culture and heritage. A myriad of countries will be represented with music, food and crafts. 

EveryVoice Book Club 
Thursday, Sept. 26, noon-1 p.m., Legend’s Bistro at Hotel Capstone 

This monthly book club is open to all faculty, staff, community members and graduate students. This month’s read is “Same Bed Different Dreams” by Ed Park.
