If you know students who are looking for academic help or study space, direct them to Learning Commons, a part of the Capstone Center for Student Success.
Peer tutoring for math, biology, chemistry, statistics, economics, accounting, foreign languages and other subjects is available on a drop-in basis every week. Some subjects also have dedicated learning groups. See tutoring schedules and links to sign up.
Peer and professional coaches work one-on-one with students who want to develop time management, organization and study skills. Coaches also offer skill-building sessions on notetaking, effective reading techniques, brain hacks and study strategies for core classes. Students can book a coaching appointment or register for a skill session.
The Office of Undergraduate Research has recently joined the Learning Commons on the second floor of Russell Hall. Students can schedule a meeting with a research ambassador to learn how to get involved in undergraduate research opportunities.
Physical resources include quiet study rooms and open study areas with amenities like write-on walls and whiteboards, comfortable seating, coffee and snacks. Students can book a study room at the front desk on either the second or third floor of Russell Hall.
Every Learning Commons service is free to UA students. Programming runs 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Friday.
