The UA Career Center is hosting the Fall 2020 Career Fairs next week. The fairs will be held virtually to offer students and employers the opportunity to connect safely.
The General Interest and Business Career Fair is Monday, Oct. 5, and the Technical and Engineering Career Fair is Thursday, Oct. 8. Both fairs are from 1 to 5 p.m.
A platform called Career Fair Plus is being used for the fairs. Students can download the app and pre-book appointments now with one of the 164 employers expected to participate.
To prepare for the virtual fairs:
- Download the Career Fair Plus app — Find the free app in the Apple App Store and Google Play by searching “Career Fair Plus.” Use the app to build a profile, access career fair information, browse employers attending the fairs, schedule appointments now with employers, add fairs to calendars and more.
- Attend a career fair crash course — A crash course can help you make the most of the career fair experience. They are offered Oct. 2 and 6. Register for one in Handshake.
- Prepare a résumé — Before handing out a résumé, make sure it’s in top shape. Schedule a virtual appointment with a consultant for help.
- Dress for success and prepare to impress — Appropriate career fair attire is business professional or business casual. For advice on how to best prepare for the fairs, visit the career fair website.
