Three visiting scholars to The University of Alabama will speak on topics related to rural health as part of the Black Faculty and Staff Association’s fall research forum.
Titled “Advancing Rural Health: An Interdisciplinary Conversation on Childhood Obesity, Water Safety and Health Teleconsulting,” the forum is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Child Development Research Center.
Lunch will be provided for those who respond by Sept. 15.
The event is co-sponsored by the UA Office for Academic Affairs and features black research scholars from Prairie View A&M University, Grand Canyon University and the Alabama Center for Rural Enterprise.
The UA Black Faculty and Staff Association partnered with the provost’s office to bring promising minority scholars to campus in an opportunity to see the campus and collaborative research at UA.
The speakers are Dr. Doris Morgan-Bloom Higginbottom of Prairie View A&M University, Catherine Coleman Flowers of the Alabama Center for Rural Enterprise and Dr. T. Ray Ruffin of Grand Canyon University and Colorado Technical University.
