TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby will speak at The University of Alabama’s 2016 Water Policy Summit at 8 a.m. Friday, April 8, at the National Water Center.
“I look forward to participating in the inaugural Water Policy Summit to discuss the importance of ongoing research efforts at the National Water Center,” Shelby said. “The National Water Center at The University of Alabama allows our nation to better predict and manage various water-related issues while fostering nationwide collaboration on water matters. I look forward to once again visiting this state-of-the-art facility and learning more about the critical work taking place in Tuscaloosa.”
The 2016 Water Policy Summit was created in response to changing water management policies and the need to protect the interests of businesses and individuals. This summit will bring together nationally recognized experts to engage in a dialogue to facilitate data-driven policymaking.
According to the Water Summit website, managing groundwater and maintaining safe water for a wide range of stakeholders is a current issue that needs a forum.
