UA School of Social Work Opens Buford Award Nominations

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Nominations are being accepted by The University of Alabama School of Social Work for the 2016 Buford Peace Award.

The Peace Award is granted annually to a UA faculty member whose teaching, research, practice and professional life have demonstrated exceptional levels of involvement in mediating human disputes, helping overcome prejudice, promoting justice and establishing peace.

Complete the Nomination Form to nominate a candidate.

The recipient will receive a $1,000 award and will be recognized at a ceremony this spring. Highest priority will be given to faculty members from the UA School of Social Work, but faculty members in any division of UA are eligible, provided they meet the selection criteria.

Nominations may be made by faculty, students or others.  Previously nominated candidates may be nominated again; however, a 2016 nomination form and updated information must be submitted.
