UA to Compete Against Texas A&M in Bone Marrow Registry Drive

The University of Alabama’s Be The Match On Campus student organization will hold a drive to add student names to the bone marrow registry and provide hope for blood cancer patients from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, and Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the Ferguson Theatre. The drive, which is part of Be The Match’s first Cheek Week challenge, is being held in competition with the Texas A&M University chapter of Be The Match on Campus.

Few studies of prevention and intervention of adolescent marijuana use have included contextual cues, like environments and interactions, a gap in literature Dr. Amy Traylor, assistant professor of social work at The University of Alabama, hopes to fill with a virtual reality-based study of adolescents’ reactions to contextual cues.

UA Museum Ghost Tour Promises Spooky Fun

The Alabama Museum of Natural History’s annual Haunting at the Museum features candlelit ghost walks around The University of Alabama’s Quad, followed by children’s activities and a scavenger hunt at the museum. The event takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28.
