TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama will host a celebration of the Coca-Cola First Generation Scholars program starting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 10, at the North End Zone of Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The event honors the first eight years of the scholars program and the Coca-Cola Foundation. The Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarships are awarded to deserving Alabama students who are the first in their families to attend college. Each student will receive a $5,000 scholarship each year for four years. Previous and current winners of the scholarship will attend.
Speakers are Gary Fayard, chief financial officer and executive vice president of The Coca-Cola Co.; and Walker Jones, community relations director of the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United Inc. of Birmingham.
Parking for the event will be available in the South ten Hoor Reserved Parking Deck.
