UA’s Afro American Gospel Choir to Perform in Northport

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama’s Afro American Gospel Choir will hold its annual benefit concert at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Hightown Church of God in Northport.

The event is open to the public. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to assist the choir in covering transportation costs to the National Baptist Student Union retreat in Duncanville, Texas, in March.

The concert will feature performances by the Afro American Gospel Choir and special guests Ascending Voices from the University of North Alabama. Comedian Jermaine “FunnyMaine” Johnson will serve as guest host for the event.
