UA to Sponsor Student Leadership Development Session in 2014

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama’s Division of Student Affairs will host the first campus-based session of the LeaderShape Institute in May 2014. Applications will be available in January 2014 through UA’s student leadership programs.

The LeaderShape Institute is a six-day ethical leadership development program organized through the Office of Student Leadership in the Division of Student Affairs. The division will sponsor 60 students to attend the UA session, covering the program cost as well as travel and lodging.

“With the support of parents and alumni, the Division of Student Affairs will be able to sponsor every student who is selected to participate in our first campus-based LeaderShape Institute, and we are very grateful for that support,” said Dr. Mark Nelson, UA’s vice president for student affairs and vice provost.

LeaderShape is an international not-for-profit organization with more than 46,000 graduates from colleges, universities, corporations and organizations.
