UA Graduate School Offers Preview Day

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Graduate School will host Graduate School Preview Day at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in the Ferguson Student Center on campus.

Representatives from graduate programs offered at UA will answer questions about graduate study in their colleges.

UA Graduate School staff will present an opening session, “The Benefits of Investing in a Graduate Education,” at 3 p.m. in the Ferguson Theatre. From 4:15 to 5 p.m, students will meet in breakout sessions with graduate program directors and other graduate faculty and staff and discuss UA’s graduate degrees.

The breakout sessions are divided into the following groups: Natural Sciences & Math (Anderson Room, 302); Communication and Information Sciences (room 313); Social Sciences (Forum-360); Graduate School of Business (Ferguson Theatre); Fine Arts and Humanities (room 312); Human Environmental Sciences (room 305); Engineering (room 309); Education (room 301); Capstone College of Nursing (room 358); Social Work (room 307); School of Law (room 300); and UA School of Medicine (Career Center, room 330).

The event also includes a seminar on graduate admissions tests, including the GRE, GMAT and MAT, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Ferguson. Students also may take Kaplan practice tests for the GRE and LSAT for free from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Ballroom.
