UA Archivist to Attend Leadership Institute

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Donnelly Lancaster Walton, interim archivist and curator of Southern History and Culture Collection at The University of Alabama’s Hoole Special Collections Library, has been selected as a participant in the 2013 Archives Leadership Institute.

The weeklong institute is funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, a statutory body affiliated with the National Archives and Records Administration. Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, will host the program through 2015.

Walton has been an archivist at the W.S. Hoole Special Collections Library at UA since 2001 and has been interim University archivist and curator of Southern history and Culture Collections since July 2011. The Archives Leadership Institute at Luther College will provide advanced training for 25 emerging and innovative leaders.
