UA Study Looks at Importance of Coping Skills during Hospital Stays

As hospitals move toward family-centered care, there is a greater need to evaluate the response of the whole family, not just the patient. By exploring the relationships between hospitalized children’s anxiety levels and mothers’ coping skills, a University of Alabama researcher hoped to learn more about how the health-care team can promote coping strategies in patients and families.

UA to Honor Wade as Part of ‘Through the Doors’ Activities

As part of The University of Alabama’s “Through the Doors” activities, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of integration at UA, Dr. Archie Wade, one of the first black faculty members to teach at UA, will soon be honored with a ceremony and plaque commemorating his 30 years as a faculty member in the kinesiology department.

UA College of Engineering Opens 3-D Printing Lab

No longer a future technology, 3-D printing is becoming more commonplace in manufacturing and business, prompting The University of Alabama College of Engineering to open a lab that encourages creativity among faculty and students.
