UA Social Work Students, Tuscaloosa Police Team for Health Fair

Graduate students from The University of Alabama School of Social Work, in partnership with the Tuscaloosa City Police Department, will host a community health fair from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Jaycees Fairground in Alberta City.

Award-Winning Author to Speak at UA about Nuclear Weapons Plant

Dr. Kristen Iversen, author of the highly-acclaimed book, “Full Body Burden: Growing Up in the Nuclear Shadow of Rocky Flats,” an autobiography about growing up near a nuclear weapons plant in Colorado, will give a Nov. 27 lecture on The University of Alabama campus.

After Winning National Award, UA Women Engineers to Host Conference

The University of Alabama chapter of the Society of Women Engineers, or SWE, was awarded the gold level Outstanding Collegiate Society Award at the SWE National Conference in Houston, Texas, and it won the bid to host its regional conference in 2014 on campus.
