Statement on April 19 Incident Near Campus

The security and well-being of our students and employees is one of our highest priorities. In emergency situations, UA will provide accurate, timely information to key stakeholders so they can make the most informed decisions possible regarding their personal safety and well-being. Early this morning, University police received reports of shots fired in close proximity to the campus.

UA Hosts Tornado Research Symposium on Anniversary of April 27 Storms

The University of Alabama’s College of Arts and Sciences and its Alabama Museum of Natural History will host a tornado research symposium Friday, April 27 to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the tornado outbreak that struck Tuscaloosa and the region.

Holt Students Experience ‘Winds of Change’ with Help from UA Students, Faculty

“Winds of Change,” a youth-led series of discussions addressing recovery priorities in Holt after the April 27, 2011, tornado, will be held from Wednesday, April 18, to Friday, April 20, at the Holt High School auditorium. Dr. Jeffrey G. Parker, associate professor of psychology at The University of Alabama, is spearheading the initiative.

UA to Host Robot Programming Competition

More than 100 elementary and high-school students from across Alabama will be at The University of Alabama April 21 telling robots what to do and hoping their instructions are good enough to win the Alabama Robotics Competition.
