UA’s Moody Gallery Features Works from Permanent Collection

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama’s Sarah Moody Gallery of Art will present the exhibit “Commingling Contemporary: Selections from the Permanent Collection” from Thursday, April 12 to Friday, June 22.

An opening reception will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 12. The public is invited to attend.

Begun in the late 1960s, the Permanent Collection emphasizes modern and contemporary art. Much of the collection is devoted to photography and works on paper. In recent years, painting and sculpture have extended the reach of the collection. Through donations of art work and funding support provided by the Farley Moody Galbraith Support Fund, the permanent collection continues to grow both in scale and aesthetic diversity.

Funding support for the Sarah Moody Gallery of Art comes from the department of art and art history and the College of Arts and Sciences at The University of Alabama.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in 103 Garland Hall on Woods Quad. Admission is free. Details: Contact the gallery at 205/348-1891 or go to art.ua.edu/site/galleries/sarah-moody-gallery-of-art/
