TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama Office of Student Involvement and Leadership will host its annual celebration of the Capstone Creed March 28-April 1.
The Capstone Creed is a statement of values listed for students to abide by while attending the University. This year’s focus is respect within the University community.
Events during the week will include signing of the Capstone Creed starting on Monday, March 28, at 11 a.m. Capstone Creed banners will be available in the Rose Administration Building lobby, Student Recreation Center and Ferguson Center TV lounge. Students, faculty and staff are invited to come by and sign their pledge to uphold the ideals of the Creed. The three signed banners will be on display in the SOURCE for students to view during the semester.
Students will have the opportunity to engage in a series of Dialogues to Action on campus life issues. Each dialogue will be a working conversation culminating in a workshop on Friday, April 1.

Who is UA? Creating a Plan for Campus Unity, Friday, April 1, 2-4 p.m., 311 Carmichael
On Thursday, March 31, at 4 p.m. in 311 Carmichael, UA will announce recipients of the Capstone Hero Award. The award honors students, faculty/staff and student organizations whose contributions to life at the University reflect the values within the Capstone Creed.
The Capstone Creed: As a member of the University of Alabama community, I will pursue knowledge; act with fairness, honesty, and respect; foster individual and civic responsibility; and strive for excellence.
