Beat Auburn Beat Hunger Food Drive at UA to Include Hunger Banquet

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama Community Service Center and Bama Dining are sponsoring a Hunger Banquet on Monday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m. in Burke Dining Hall as part of the annual Beat Auburn Beat Hunger food drive competition.

The Hunger Banquet is based on an Oxfam program and gives students a firsthand look at food inequality. The goal of the banquet is to help students achieve a better understanding of today’s hunger problems throughout the world.

Frannie James of the UA Honors College will facilitate the banquet, and a panel of Tuscaloosa residents will speak at the event. Students who wish to attend should reserve their seats at hungerbanquetrsvp@gmail.com.

In addition, the CSC and the Student Government Association recently sponsored the CanFormation (canned food design) competition during Homecoming Week with the food donated to Beat Auburn Beat Hunger.
