TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Panhellenic Preview Weekend will be held Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m.- 5:45 p.m. for high school senior women interested in joining a sorority at The University of Alabama.
Registration for the weekend will begin at 10 a.m. at The Zone in Bryant-Denny Stadium followed by sorority house tours and an informational session for parents. A barbecue block party on Sorority Row will cap off the event.
“This is an excellent opportunity for women to get a feel for how recruitment will work and has lots of helpful information for preparing for recruitment in the fall,” said Megan Brantley, director of public relations for the Alabama Panhellenic Association.
Women will be put into Sigma Rho Chi groups and will be able to spend time with all 17 Panhellenic sororities. Current sorority women have been trained to be Sigma Rho Chi leaders and will lead groups to each house.
“These women offer great insight for women because not only have they been through recruitment at Alabama, but they are currently in sororities,” said Shellie Street, director of Sigma Rho Chi for the Alabama Panhellenic Association.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend the weekend’s events and will be able to attend a session that addresses financial concerns as well as how to help daughters prepare for recruitment. This session will be held in The Zone while daughters tour Sorority Row.
