The University of Alabama’s Creative Campus Initiative will host Foster Auditorium Awareness Week April 6-10 on the UA campus. The week is planned as a response to ongoing conversation about Foster and the variety of historically significant cultural events that have taken place there.
Dr. Jinx Campbell, a leading investigator on the role of fungi in salt marsh and sea grass plants, will give the annual Darden Lecture at 7 p.m. April 8 in The University of Alabama’s Biology Building, room 127.
Dr. Breena Holland, assistant professor of political science at Lehigh University, will speak on “Environmental Policy and the Problem of Justice” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, in the Biology Auditorium at The University of Alabama.
The University of Alabama Women’s Resource Center will sponsor its annual Take Back the Night march to support the end of violence against women on Tuesday, April 7, at 6 p.m. at the Ferguson Center Plaza.
Charles Hilburn has been named assistant to the vice president for advancement at The University of Alabama.
The University of Alabama Graduate School now accepts the submission of electronic theses and dissertations and encourages students to submit electronically rather than on paper. Students have the choice of either paper or electronic submission from now until Aug. 14, after which electronic submission is required for all theses and dissertations.
Dr. Jennings Bryant, Reagan Endowed Chair of Broadcasting and associate dean for graduate studies and research for the College of Communication and Information Sciences at The University of Alabama, has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Burnum Distinguished Faculty Award.
