ANNOUNCEMENTS

Students should check their Bama e-mail account on Sunday, Nov. 8, for information on post-season football tickets.

This week’s football game against LSU will kick off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Bryant-Denny Stadium and will be televised on CBS. To read more about the latest game-day information, visit http://uagameday.com/football/index.php.

Alternative parking is available on game-day weekends for students living in the Tutwiler Hall area. Some parking areas near Tutwiler Hall must be vacated by 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6., and all Fridays of football-game weekends. Alternative student parking is available in the following parking lots: Barnwell, Parham, Osband, Burke, Hayden-Harris, Farrah, the Aquatics Center and the lot at the corner of Bryant Drive and Hackberry Lane. Click here for a map of these areas. If all of these parking options are full, students should go to the Campus Drive Deck, which is free for students after 5 p.m. on Friday. From the Campus Drive Deck, Crimson Ride will take students back to Tutwiler. For later hours, the 348-RIDE express or 348-RIDE will provide service to Tutwiler.

Persons who tailgate on the Quad or other campus areas are advised that it is their obligation to secure their personal belongings during the time they are away from their tailgate locations. The University does not assume any responsibility for guarding or protecting personal items from theft or other calamity while their owners are at the game or until they return to their tailgate sites to collect those items. Any items not collected by their owners by noon on the day after a game will be considered abandoned and subject to collection by the University.

Fans attending Quad events prior to each home football game are encouraged to drop off game-day recyclables at a tent east of the Amelia Gayle Gorgas Library. Plastic, aluminum and cardboard will be accepted at the tent, staffed by employees from UA’s logistics and support services department. UA employees and SGA volunteers will hand out recycling bags to individual groups tailgating on the Quad so that cardboard, aluminum cans, plastic cups, food wrappers and other types of plastics, including ice bags, can be recycled.

Make your donation to Beat Auburn Beat Hunger today. Donations can be made online or at one of the Beat Auburn Beat Hunger collection sites through Nov. 19. Contact the Community Service Center for more information about collection sites and other ways to help. Also, persons who bring 10 canned goods or $5 to Alumni Hall or to the Student Alumni Association table at the Ferguson Student Center will receive a “Beat Auburn … Again” T-shirt while supplies last. Contact jdefrance@alumni.ua.edu for information about the SAA drive.

The UA Chapter of the NAACP is now accepting monetary or unwrapped toy donations for its annual Christmas Toy Ball. The toys, purchased or donated, will be given to local organizations and schools who in turn distribute them to children from needy families. Without these efforts, many children from the Tuscaloosa area would receive little or nothing for the Christmas holidays. More information: Malcolm Cammeron.
