UA Takes Part in Up ‘til Dawn Event for St. Jude Children’s Hospital

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama will participate in Up ‘til Dawn, a nationwide event that benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, on Nov. 4 from 2-8 p.m. in the Ferguson Center east dining room.

UA students, faculty and staff will have the chance to help save lives by sending letters to potential donors to raise funds for the hospital.

Participants should bring addresses of friends, family and acquaintances who might be interested in donating. Volunteers will write a brief message at the bottom of pre-typed letters and address the envelopes, both provided by St. Jude. Participants do not have to pay for postage.

Pre-registered participants will receive a free T-shirt, as will all other participants while supplies last. Participants who send 35 letters or more will have the opportunity to win a Nintendo Wii. Food, beverages and entertainment will be provided.

The event is open to students, faculty, staff and community members. To learn more about participating, contact Amanda Burton, student co-executive director of the UA Up ‘til Dawn event, at aeburton3@gmail.com
